Why Agriculture?
Our roots lie in African agriculture, where we cultivate the foundations of economic growth and development. Our focus on agriculture is a dual commitment driven by its pivotal role in
Africa's future prosperity and our shared experience.
A Bedrock of Prosperity
At the core of our mission is the economic growth and prosperity of countries on the African continent. Agriculture, or more broadly the agrifood sector, stands as the largest and most vital sector of most African countries. Beyond its economic significance, agriculture plays a fundamental role in fostering development. For example, the World Bank estimates that growth in the agriculture sector is two to four times more effective in raising incomes among the poorest compared to other sectors. Moreover, we believe that for communities to thrive, a foundation of food security is imperative. People cannot contribute to society or engage in meaningful work if their basic needs for sustenance are not met. Hence, our journey begins with cultivating the roots of food sovereignty, knowing it is the key to unlocking all other broader development goals.

Expertise That Shapes Progress
The decision to start with agriculture is not just strategic; it's a reflection of our deep-rooted expertise. This sector is not just where we work; it's where we excel. Our commitment to excellence is evidenced by our extensive experience and proven track record in agricultural initiatives in a number of African countries.
Tapestry of Experience
At DSG, we are dedicated to realizing transformation in African nations, focusing on the design and implementation of national agrifood system transformation strategies that are central to achieving economic development.
As we look towards a future where African countries flourish, we are proud to showcase our experiences in supporting stakeholders in Ethiopia, Sudan, and Togo in establishing Nodal Entities that serve as drivers of agrifood system transformation.

Beyond Agriculture
While our roots are firmly planted in the agriculture sector, our long term strategic vision calls for us to extend beyond these initial boundaries. We recognize the need to diversify and expand into other sectors to address multifaceted challenges that African countries face, comprehensively. Our strategic approach calls for us to leverage our proficiency in agriculture as a steppingstone for engagements and impact across other sectors in the years to come.
